are gerbils that will be picked up they like to dig and have tunnels, a fish tank with mesh top for air and half the tank full of shaving, sawdust or packed hay make sure its at least 8-10 inches deep. Fluffy bedding and long shredded paper can wrap tightly around their legs so not good for gerbils or most small rodents. Toilet tubes, egg boxes all good fun for gerbils. These will make noise in the evening.
